Item description

These two activities in Italian are for practicing and learning the imperfect past tense. They get students up, moving and interacting! Both activities are fully editable to add or subtract activities based on your students’ knowledge. The This or that activity is NO PREP and the Find someone Who is low prep (if done on paper) – just print and it is ready!

The first activity is a “this or that” google slides Activity.

There are 17 slides where the students move to the left side or right side of the room based on if the statement pertains to them or not based on when they were five years old. This in-put activity helps students learn the imperfect past tense in context. The activity uses the io form.

Speaking bingo / Find someone who

Students need to go around the room asking each other in Italian if various statements using the imperfect tense describe them when they were five. If a students says Sì… then they sign their name in the square. I generally allow students to sign a maximum of 2 squares so that they speak with many different students. That can be edited based on class size. I also generally say it is complete when they have 20 of the 25 squares with a signature to ensure they talk with several of their peers. The activity uses the lui/lei, tu and io forms of imperfect verbs.
