This is a series of 3 lessons for Anthony Doerr’s All the Light We Cannot See. Students complete several close reading activities for section Zero of the novel. Students practice the skill of analyzing evidence and interpreting important literary devices within each passage, such as dramatic irony, characterization, personification, mood, atmosphere, and more. Afterwards, student craft a literary analysis paragraph that focuses on the dramatic irony within the passage. This set of lessons includes a structured outline to support students with the writing process as well as rubrics for each activity.
All documents were made on Google Docs. and are compatible with Google Classroom. This is a digital resource, but it can be printed and students can complete the activity on a separate sheet of paper if this fits your preferences.
