Item description

Here is a hands-on alphabet activity for your students. This print and go ELA resource helps kindergarteners learn initial sounds and initial letter names with no prep cut and glue printables.

The 31 pages are great for literacy centers, response to intervention RtI, or daily word work.

Tasks:

Students find the two pictures from the three at the bottom of each page that have the same beginning sound as the large picture.

Recognize and name all upper- and lowercase letters of the alphabet.
Associate the long and short sounds with common spellings (graphemes) for the five major vowels.

  • There are 31 total pages: one for each letter of the alphabet. There are two pages for each vowel – long AEIOU and short aeiou.

  • Icons for visual directions are at the top of each page (color, cut, glue)

  • Extension activity: have students glue the “leftover” picture to the back of the worksheet and print the first letter/sound of the image.

  • An answer key is provided with the name of each picture.
