This lesson showcases African American painter Jacob Lawrence. Your
students will receive an art history lesson and instructions for them to
easily paint in the style of this amazing artist. Lawrence was
referred to his style as “dynamic cubism”, though his influence leans
towards the shapes and colors of Harlem.
The lesson will
invite your 2nd-5th grade students to create a beautiful unique art
piece inspired by Lawrence and the techniques in this lesson offers
incredible results – a great encouragement for those reluctant artists.
