This lesson spotlights the wonderful work of Jacob Lawrence, an
American Artist whose paintings depict African American life and heavily
influenced by the Harlem Renaissance period. The lesson is perfect for
2nd through 5th grade with some modifications. Students will have the
opportunity to explore texture and layering. The lesson will invite the
students to create a beautiful unique art piece inspired by Mr. Lawrence
