Item description
This product is a great supplemental material to follow any of the stories about spreading kindness through the idea of filling up invisible buckets. Some of these stories are “How Full Is Your Bucket? For Kids” by Tom Rath and Mary Reckmeyer, “Have You Filled A Bucket Today? A Guide To Daily Happiness For Kids” by Carol McCloud, “Fill A Bucket” by Carol McCloud and Katherine Martin, M.A., or “Bucket Filling From A To Z” by Carol McCloud and Caryn Butzke. After reading one of these books (Some may also be available on YouTube) or once students understand the concept of bucket filling and dipping, select one of the included supplemental activities. In the first activity, students separate bucket filling (kind) and bucket dipping (unkind) actions on a T-chart. In the second activity, students glue only kind actions onto the bucket. The third activity is a class sort of bucket filling (kind) and bucket dipping (unkind) actions. Finally, the fourth option provides this same class sort for students to work through individually. In activities one and two, the ease of one sheet of paper per student containing both the phrases to be cut out and the surface to glue the phrases make these activities very user friendly. This product contains a few different activity options, making it appropriate for kindergarten through 2nd grade.
