Increasing sentence length, expanding utterances and speaking in complete sentences during speech and language therapy are IEP goal areas that SLPs work on daily. Finding motivating activities that also increase MLU in speech therapy, teach key vocabulary words and semantic skills is often difficult.

This is such a fun and different approach to increasing MLU! This play therapy language activity has a Toy Shop theme that is great for Christmas speech therapy. The students will request the items needed to Build their own Toy Shop.

I love that this activity also can be used to discuss activities that students may have experienced with their family when holiday shopping 🙂
