Objectives

  • By the end of this activity, students will have created a dictionary of Spanish/English cognates.
  • Students will also have a deeper understanding of the Spanish language and a greater ability to identify words similar between Spanish and English language.


Activity Summary

Students will work in small groups to create a dictionary of cognates in English and Spanish language. They will learn new vocabulary and build on their Spanish language skills by researching these words. The final product will be a picture dictionary with 5 words per letter of the alphabet.
