Your students will have FUN practicing reading and writing the numbers 1-20 in French with this fun breakout/escape room activity! Low prep – just print and it is ready!


The breakout includes 4 activities all focused on numbers 1-20 for students to solve. The first two activities are input which require the students to recognize the numbers and the third and forth activities require them to write out the numbers. Once they have completed each activity they need to decipher information to reveal the “keys/codes” to the four locks. At the end they use information from the four locks to help with several tasks as a volunteer in a zoo. As a breakout/escape room this part of the activity takes problems solving skills and thinking outside the box! The last page is the “serrures” page where students fill in their codes to see if they can open all of the locks. The French is written at a low level including mostly cognates (animals) and visuals for beginning French students.


A full answer key, teacher instructions and explanations (including hints to provide struggling students) on how to decipher all of the codes are included. *The doc is editable if you need to add/delete footnotes etc. to help with your students’ comprehension level.
