Holiday Song and Movie Mashup Activity

Teaching in December is tough! Are you looking for a minimal prep musical activity for holidays? The Holiday Song and Movie Mashup Music Activity allows students to creatively combine well known songs and familiar movies. Students will work together to brainstorm, create, and perform! Works well for both middle school and high school students!


This activity includes several well-known holiday song titles and several famous holiday movie titles. Students will be placed in small groups. Each group will draw a song title and a movie title. Then, students will have 10-15 minutes to re-write the lyrics of the song title to tell the story of the movie title they drew. Groups will take turns performing for the class.


My students LOVE this activity and enjoy performing their creative lyrics for their classmates.
