Are you looking to incorporate more Social Emotional Learning Components into your classroom? Easily encourage more Social Emotional Learning concepts within your classroom by using these I Feel, I Need… Desk Name Tags. These Desk Name Tags are a perfect addition to any classroom as they offer 6 different emotions and 6 calm need based options along the tags! These name tags help to encourage students to check-in within themselves about how they are feeling and what they need throughout the day to promote self-awareness. Students can then advocate for themselves by using the list of options!

Ideas For Use:

When you first use these name tags, you want to introduce them to your students. First, explain that we all have feelings and that when our feelings get too big, we might need something to help calm those big feelings. Then, ask your students to go around and read each emotion and needs based option! Each day after, you can begin a morning check-in by asking students how they are feeling and what they might need.

Students can also use a paperclip throughout the day to “point” to what they might need so as the teacher walks around, they can see what exactly the student is feeling and needs without causing a distraction. This makes for a great check-in activity, while also promoting positive self-awareness and self-management skills among your students!
