Elevate Kindergarten writing with our Write the Room activity featuring h, b, f, and ff letter sounds. Teachers print, cut, and laminate the cards, while kids find the hidden sounds around the room and write them on the recording worksheet. This interactive challenge is ideal for beginner Phonics and fosters handwriting development in a fun and engaging way.
Our printable resource has a color and black and white version of both the cards and worksheets. The color version helps kids recognize the sounds easily, and the black and white version presents a fun challenge with numbered cards.
There are 8 pages in total – 4 in color and 4 in black and white. They are in a pdf format and print on letter size paper (a4). The recording sheets offer 3 levels which cater for different abilities:
First sheet allows kids to trace the sound, aiding letter formation. They can use colors for fun. Ideal for introducing writing and those struggling with letter formation.
Second sheet has a traced sound for reference and space for independent attempts. Suitable for sound recognition but writing support needed.
Last sheet is blank and the most challenging, requiring sound identification and writing without tracing.
The letter cards can also be used without the recording sheets, for games like run around (instructions on how to play are included in the resource), flashcards, and simple matching games.
