Item description

Develop your students multiplicative thinking with this multiplication memory match game. Students will need to understand multiplication facts 1-12 and use their observation skills, communication, and critical thinking to remember the position of each card to match the cards in each set.

– 243 memory game cards (optional wood background for double-sided printing)

– 10 differentiated cut and paste worksheets

Included in this resource are five levels. Use the cards associated with individual levels as an entry-level activity. To increase the difficulty, use the entire 243 cards in one sitting as a level 6 activity.

Level 1 – Multiplication facts 1-3

Level 2 – Multiplication facts 5 & 10

Level 3 – Multiplication facts 4, 6 & 7

Level 4 – Multiplication facts 8 & 9

Level 5 – Multiplication facts 11 & 12

Students turn over two cards at one time. Cards will display multiplication facts (one card shows an expression, and the matching card displays the answer). The goal of the activity will be to match two cards depicting the matching expression and answer to the equation. For example, the first game card states the following expression ‘3×12.’ Students will attempt to find the matching card, the number ‘36.’ If the cards match, they are removed from the game, and the student keeps the two cards at their side. The cards are turned back over if not a match until another student can match them. Pairs/groups continue until all of the cards are paired. The student with the highest number of pairs wins at the end of the game.
