Students should be able to pronounce each letter as well as identifying it. Every letter sounds different. Small words can then be taught to write after learning both uppercase and lowercase letters in preschool and kindergarten.


You won’t be able to teach Kindergarten students number names up to 10 until you have mastered the alphabet charts. They’ll be capable of forming words by themselves. Short sentence instruction and having students respond to basic queries would get easier from now on.
