Item description

Do you work with teens who struggle with self-regulation and applying concepts taught in most SEL (social emotional learning) curriculums? This product focuses on educating the teens while creating a personalized workbook of strategies.

***You will receive a ZIP file containing the TEACHER GUIDE, POWERPOINT SLIDE SHOW, PDF OF SLIDESHOW, STUDENT WORKBOOK, AND INTRODUCTORY GUIDE TO TEACHING INTEROCEPTION. There are 22 PowerPoint slides (plus identical PDF), 15 page student workbook, 1 page teacher guide, and 6 page introductory guide to teaching interoception

INCLUDES:

  • PowerPoint slide show with educational content written with teens in mind
    • PowerPoint also given as PDF
    • Gives background information on our 8 senses (including “hidden senses”)
    • Explains and gives examples of hyper- and hypo-responsiveness to sensory input
    • Introduces interoception and how body sensations relate to emotions
    • Gives practice identifying own body sensations connected to emotions
    • Student workbook that correlates to slideshow
      • Teens learn concepts then complete worksheets along the way (Sample worksheets included in PREVIEW)
      • Teens trial suggested strategies for each sense
    • Teacher guide
      • Explains how slide show and workbook go together

RECOMMENDATIONS:

    • Slide show is interactive, but first few slides are education only
    • Teen should read through the slides with an adult
    • Check the images included in listing to ensure the language is at the correct level for your students (if teen is below age level with reading comprehension, an adult may need to read it to them)
    • For students who get overwhelmed with visual input, enlarge the slides so only partial information is showing at a time
    • Workbook needs to be available (1 per student) while working through the slide show
    • Some workbook pages can be duplicated so student can add more information as needed (strategies and “things that bother me”)
