The title of the book is “Make things Have Fun” and this book has a
crowd pleasing topic – kids making things and having fun making things!
This book uses over 100 unique sight words that helps your child or
student to gain the love of independent reading. We learn about
painting, tinkering with STEM projects, sculpting as a way to have fun
and create peace. The story captures the magic of imagination and
pretend play with humor and fun. the story continues funny jokes and
silly sayings but also ways to reinvent our favorites!

The
book invites the child to engage with the story by asking questions and
give opportunities for them to be inspired to come up with new
adventures.

As a Montessori preschool and kindergarten
teacher, my mission is to create using with real life scenarios and
illustrate with real pictures showing children. My goal is to represent
diversity of children and invite the child to see themselves in the
story. I find that most products cater to one component but not the
other.

This is my attempt to offer a quality reading
resource for those in the Pre-K through 2nd grade environment who want
to help their students work on building confidence and competence in
reading and who are looking for books that are:

  • centered around real life
  • age appropriate
  • allow for the child to read independently using words found predominately on Frys Word list
  • ideal for Montessori teachers looking for stories that are not cartoon themed

This book can function as a fun way to allow students to pick up a book and feel the value of reading “all by myself.”

Other ways to use this resource include:

  • You can also use them each page as conversation starters or quick ice breakers for circle time.
  • I
like to use them as fun art breaks where I choose a page and read it to
the class and the students can draw a picture and write a few words
about what they love about days.
  • this book can also be used as partner work where the pair can read the book side by side, taking turns with the pages.
