Item description

A fun hands-on activity where students add mass to aluminum foil or clay boats until they sink. The science behind the observations are clearly described in terms of mass, volume, and density. There is a STEM element to this activity as students build their simple boats. Will the boats sink or float? A data is provided for students to write their hypothesis and record their results. The lesson also gives suggestions for running STEM inquiry activities that could be run in further classes.
