This spring reading passage resource includes seven passages followed by comprehension questions in both a printable and digital format. They’re great for a quick reading activity for 3rd and 4th grade students. Some passages will be appropriate for fifth graders, but most are better for 3rd & 4th grade readers. Each passage includes five to six comprehension questions following the reading passage. This resource also includes a separate file with full page printable passages without comprehension questions for teachers who want to write their own questions.


There are five non-fiction and two fiction reading passages with the following titles:

  3. Earth Day (NF)
  4. Rainy Days (NF)
  5. Thailand Water Festival (NF)
  6. Field Trip (F)
  7. Bike Race (F)

Your download will a .zip file that includes three files:

  1. The printable pages which have the passage and questions on the same page and are an easy no-prep assignment to staple into a homework packet, give for a quick assignment, or use in a reading group.
  2. The digital resource which is a PDF with the link to the Google slides and basic instructions on how to access the resource and assign to students in Google classroom. It includes seven Google slides with the reading passages, seven slides with comprehension questions, and a separate Google slide resource with the seven answer keys. Your students should be familiar with Google classroom and understand how to “turn in” and assignment to you before using this resource. *Slide size is 4×3.
  3. Printable full pages of the reading passages without comprehension questions.
