INSTRUCTIONS:

1. You will need to print the 2 pages of the RECORDING SHEET for EVERY person or team playing the game.
2. Print 9 PUZZLES just ONE TIME (in color if possible). DO NOT LET STUDENTS WRITE ON THESE PAGES! The students should ONLY be writing on the answer page. You do NOT have to print the actual puzzle pages for every student. (Our goal is to save you paper!)
3. Determine how you want to use the hint cards found in the GAME HINTS section. Do you want to display them right next to the puzzle? Do you want to hold on to them and only show kids who seem to be struggling? (This is what I do).
4. Preview the puzzles and answers just in case you need to offer help or guidance. The students MIGHT struggle the first time they see the puzzles…that’s OK, that’s the goal, it is after all an escape room! Let them think it out for a bit before you help them.
5. Once all 6 puzzles and answer recording sheets have been printed, read the “mission” out loud on and review the directions. Next, let the fun begin! Set a timer for 15 to 30 minutes and see who can crack the code in the allotted time. Let students know that they can complete the puzzles in ANY order. Just make sure they record their answers in the correct area.
