STEP 1: Verbalizing Pictures includes everything you need to begin building your students’ reading and language comprehension. A picture is shared with the student. The student shares details of the picture with the teacher to help the teacher create the same picture in their mind. The teacher prompts the student to share details of the picture to help build the picture they “see” in their head. The teacher describes their picture. Both the student and teacher view the picture together and discuss.
