Item description

Translating algebraic expressions and equations can be tough for students, especially for students whose first language is not English. This digital pixel art will allow middle school math students to practice translating verbal expressions and equations into mathematical statements. There are a total of 8 self-checking problems for students to translate.

If they answer correctly a portion of the mystery picture will appear. If they get it wrong, the boxes will not be colored in. Students will love guessing what the picture will be.

Here is what’s included:

➡️ 8 self-checking problems

➡️ answer key

➡️ 2 different sheets – a self-checking and an assessment

Your students will love this mystery picture pixel art activity! This is an engaging activity for your students that requires no prep from you. All you have to do is assign it to your students in your LMS! Students will love guessing what the picture will be.

This pixel art activity will work for both Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel!

MICROSOFT NOTE: Once downloaded to excel, the problem pictures may be distorted based on the device and screen size. After you purchase and download this activity, you can adjust the size of the problem pictures to fit in the boxes before giving it to students.

TIP: Be sure to give your students a copy where they CANNOT edit your original. Be sure to delete the answers before sharing with your students. This will make the picture disappear.
