Item description

These pumpkin and turkey place value activities are great for reinforcing place value skills in an engaging way. The turkey and pumpkins come in either 1 per page or 2 per page. Simply print onto white paper, choose a number and write it down, or let the student pick their own 2 or 3 digit number. Then, students fill in the following information according to their chosen number:

  • Write the number in word form
  • Write the number in expanded form
  • Write the value of each digit in the number
  • Draw the number in base 10 blocks
  • Write how many hundreds, tens and ones are in the number
  • Write 1 more and 1 less (2 digit numbers)
  • Write 10 less and 10 more than the given number
  • Write 100 more and 100 less than the give number (3 digit numbers)


Once that’s done, students can color and decorate their picture, cut it out along the edge and it can be hung on the classroom wall, bulletin board or attach small strips to the top and turn it into a pennant/bunting!
