Item description
Looking for an activity to make place value extra fun this Valentine’s Day?!
This low-prep place value craft does just that! It will keep your kiddos engaged and makes a cute Valentine’s display!
Your kids will create their own Valentine’s craft with candy hearts as ones, pencils as tens, and cards as hundreds. They’ll choose a number and use the pieces to show their number. (Each piece is labeled with the number it represents…either 1, 10, or 100!)
This place value craft includes options to use ones, tens, and hundreds, as well as just tens and ones. This makes it easy to differentiate for your kiddos!
Inside this Valentine’s place value craft, you will find:
In the sample picture shown, I used 8.5 x 11 inch paper. If you’d like to use larger numbers, I’d recommend using large (12 x 18 inch) construction paper!
Math crafts are great for review, make a fun Friday activity, and are perfect to leave in your sub plans! They’re perfect for centers, for early finishers, and a whole group activity!
Tips for use in your classroom:
✅Copy the pieces for your kids.
✅There are two ways you can do this place value craft! You can have your kids choose a number first, then show it with the Valentine pieces. You could also have them build a number with the pieces first, then write their number.
✅Kids will color, cut, and glue the hearts, pencils, and love notes to a piece of paper.
✅These make a cute display too!
