This product includes 3 interactive books (emergent readers) celebrating love and friendship–perfect for Valentine’s Day, the month of February, or anytime! Designed to help children develop reading comprehension skills, these easy read books are great for special education and regular classes, guided reading, literacy centers, work tasks, and more!

These adapted books are easy to assemble – Simply print pages (use cardstock and/or laminate for durability if desired). Bind each book using preferred binding method. Cut apart answer tiles. Use hook-and-loop tape to store image tiles on colour-coded pages.

Students read the sentences on each page using the simple sight words & picture cues, read the basic comprehension question, choose the appropriate image tile, and place it in the box at the bottom of the page.

These books are ‘Level 2’ books. Level 2 books:

-use predictable patterns

-have 2-3 simple sentence on each page

-include basic sight words

-include some CVC words

-include picture cues (in the illustrations & with rebus clues)

-ask basic re-tell questions rephrasing the text, also with basic sight words and simple picture cues.

-focus on ‘Who,’ ‘Where,’ and ‘What’ questions
