What if Shakespeare’s Characters Were on Social Media challenges students to create social media profiles and posts for 65 characters from five classic plays: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Hamlet, Macbeth, Othello, and Romeo and Juliet. They need to use their imagination and knowledge of the stories to fill out personal information about each character as well as his or her family, friends, acquaintances, jobs, education, and interests. Then they are challenged to write ten posts the character could have posted and illustrate five of them as though they were shared in image or video format. They can also draw pictures to represent friends and acquaintances. Seven pages are included for each character. The entire unit can be printed, or you can print only the characters for the play students are studying. A set of blank worksheets are also included for any character being studied that is not included. 469 pages total.
