Have a great time with the Battles Bundle! The Battles series is a fantastic pair-based speaking practice activity that can be adapted to any age/level and used for teaching vocabulary and a variety of grammar structures. Full instructions are included as well as several pre-made games and fully editable templates of everything. This bundle comes with all 3 themes: classic, pirates, and aliens.

This resource was designed for Assistant (English) Language Teachers (ALTs) in Japan and ESL classes around the world. It is aimed towards elementary school 3rd to 6th grade/junior high school 1st to 3rd grade students (ages 8-15) with the intent of maximizing speaking and listening skills.

What’s included:

• All three battles themes (Classic, Pirates, and Aliens)

• One 35-65 minute lesson plan with full instructions on how to play the game

• Eight general warm-up activity ideas that require minimal preparation

• Four repetition activity ideas for drilling the target structures in fun ways

• Eighteen editable battles activity templates that can be adapted for a variety of grammar structures and difficulty levels to suit your needs: color and monochrome

• Thirty-six pre-made battles activity prints for ‘will…?’, ‘Does…?’ and ‘Can…?’ with variations adapted for different age/ability levels: color and monochrome

How to use:

This activity has been used in my own classes to great success and has allowed the students to understand the target phrases/vocabulary and use them in fun and engaging ways.

The lesson plan provides a detailed step-by-step guide on how to run the lesson as well as several warm-up activities that can be adapted to suit the needs of any class. It can be used with a handful of students or a full class and minimal preparation is required.
