Item description
Utilize this engaging planet research report to deepen your students’ understanding of material! In this jigsaw project, students will become the teacher, or expect. Each group will research one of the 9 planets (including Pluto). Groups will work together to complete a graphic organizer with questions about their assigned planet, create a visual aid, and present the information that they found to the rest of the class.
Additionally, each group can create “Fill in the Blank” notes for their peers to track with to pay attention during presentations – you can take their notes to compile a short quiz at the end. The note handouts they fill in during the presentations can be used as study guides for the quiz!
Students will be graded in this project on four categories – content (research), visual aid, presentation/delivery, and collaboration with peers, a 21st Century skill. There are three separate rubrics created by grade level (6, 7, and 8) for the Speech & Language Common Core standards.
