State-of-Being Verbs – 4 worksheets:

These four easy-to-use worksheets provide students with practice in using state-of-being verbs.

• The first two worksheets give students sentences with a blank to fill in and the word choices listed under the blank. (1 worksheet for am-is-are, and one worksheet for was-were).
• The third worksheet gives them a Word Box with all five of the state-of-being verbs and asks them
  to choose the best one for the blank in each sentence.
• With the fourth worksheet students draw lines to match subjects with a correct
  verb; they also add verbs to fill in blanks in sentences.

Action Verbs – 3 worksheets:

This set of 3 worksheets provides practice identifying and writing with action verbs.

• Worksheet 1: Students circle the present tense action verb in given sentences. They write a verb on the line to complete 3 sentences;
• Worksheet 2: Students circle the past tense action verb in given sentences. They write a verb on the line to complete 3 sentences;
• Worksheet 3: Students write their own sentences using the given action verb.

Designed for Grades 1-2, with simple sentences and a reminder about verbs at the top of the page.

Verbs Practice – “has”, “have”, “had” – 3 worksheets:

This set of three worksheets provide practice with the verbs “has”, “have” and “had”.

The first worksheet explains that these verbs tell about a noun or pronoun in the sentence.

• Worksheet 1: Students circle the word “has”, “have” or “had” in each given
  sentence, and underline the noun or pronoun the word tells about.
• Worksheet 2: Students fill in the blanks with the correct word (“has”, “have” or “had”)
• Worksheet 3: Students use their own words to complete sentences with given subject and verb . (Eric has….)

Designed for Grades 1-2, with simple sentences.

Present Tense – Past Tense – 3 worksheets:

This set of 3 worksheets is perfect for reinforcing the concept of present and past tenses.

• The first worksheet asks students to identify which sentences are past tense and which are present tense.
• The second worksheet asks them to make a given verb past tense by adding -ed.
• The third worksheet asks students to match irregular present and past tense verbs.

These worksheets can be used for students just learning tenses or for review.

All of these worksheets are designed for Grades 1-2. They can be used either for in-class or take-home work.
