There are 3 instructional posters that explain how to find volume in two different ways: when the shape is divided into unit squares and when only the dimensions are given. TASK CARDS

Each card presents students with a shape and challenges them to find the volume. Most show figures with unit squares, but there are several that just provide the length, width, and height measurements. Questions involve:

• identifying the length, width, or height of a shape

• calculating volume of a shape

• comparing the volume of two different shapes

Includes 20 task cards, a recording sheet, and answer key.

WORKSHEETS

The first worksheet is a cut and paste activity. Students cut out the shapes and glue them into the box with the correct volume. This activity is appropriate for independent practice such as math centers or homework.
